Fernando Rojas

From March 2010 to October 2011, Ambassador Fernando Rojas was the Permanent Representative of Peru to the UNOG and other International Organizations in Geneva. He was born in Arequipa in 1948. Graduated in International Relations from the Universidad San Agustín de Arequipa and diplomat since 1975, he worked in the Peruvian Embassies in Luxembourg, Belgium, Brazil, Bolivia and France as well as in the Permanent Mission of Peru to the European Community, and was Consul-General of Peru in New York. He was appointed Ambassador of Peru in Costa Rica and Bolivia. He was Chef du Cabinet of the Permanent Secretary of the Latin American and Caribbean Economic System, based in Venezuela, and Secretary for Foreign Policy, Secretary of Administration, Director for South America and Director of the Press Office at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Peru. 

Ambassador Rojas has participated in many international fora as the UN General Assembly and in the General Assembly of the Organization of American States, as well as in the Rio Group, Ibero-American, UNASUR and Andean Community summits. He has received many decorations, among them the ”Ordre du Roi Léopold” from Belgium.

He is currently the Vice-Minister of Foreign Affairs of Peru.
